Untitled...

I know, coming from me, this sounds like blasphemy, but when I saw Raajneeti, I didn't like Ranbir Kapoor! I mean, I wanted to see more of Arjun Rampal than him! Arjun was definitely the hotter one! And his husky voice coupled with power.....its a totally irresistible! Ranbir, no doubt was good in the movie, but there was something missing. Or maybe it was just me..... I think I'm done with men who can 'think'! I didn't like him even when he was shirtless in the shower....and when he was shirtless with just the jeans on and smoking! I really need to shake myself up! I mean for God's sake it's me who's NOT liking Ranbir Kapoor! And, the same goes for Irfan Pathan too. I mean I actually changed channels when he came on Indian Idol!!! Ah! Not one of those misoandrist phases again!

There's just no good music to listen to! Radio also plays such sad songs! Even the RJs suck. Earlier, I remember listening to this morning show of Jaggu and Tarana.....they were the best RJs ever!! I guess their show is over now. Anyways, when I first saw Raavan's credits and read A.R. Rahman's name there, I thought, there will finally be some respite....but the music was such a downer. The music of I Hate Luv Storys is some relief! There are some great songs.....like the Bin Tere Reprise version and Sadka Hua. And the title track is peppy!!! Aakhon se kehke yeh sapna gaya hain, subah ko jaage toh rasta naya hain!! Wish life was as simple! I've also been listening to the male version of Iktara....and trust me it gives you the chills! Je naina karu band band....beh jaaye boond boond....tadpaye re kyun sunaye geet malhar de....! Also, while you're at it, download the title track of Kaminey. It's an awesommmmme song! Meri arzoo kamini....mere khwab bhi kaminey....ek dil se dosti thi....yeh huzoor bhi kaminey!!! A nice song to listen to when you thought you never had a dark side but then, life proves you wrong!

BTW, how are Kabir, Nikhil and Sehar as names of my new story? I've just finalised the names.... I have no clue where I'm gonna get a story from! I have a faint idea for a story.....but I'm not sure if it'll be something I'd want to write on...! This story was actually something someone had promised to give me in this lifetime... A story that only I could write....something that I could write because I'd felt it, because I had lived it.....but it's precisely why I don't want to write!! This time, I want to write something that I've not experienced in life. That would be a great challenge! So, if anyone has any ideas as starters, please let me know and book your place in the acknowledgements!!

Dreams On Fire

You are my waking dream
You're all that's real to me
You are the magic in the world I see

You are the prayer
I sing
You brought me to my knees
You are the faith that made me believe

Dreams on fire
Higher n higher
Passions burning
Right on the pyre

Once far, forever yours
Give me
All your heart
Dreams on fire
Higher n higher

You are my ocean waves
You are my thought each day
You are the laughter from childhood games

You are the spark of dawn
You are where I belong
You are the ache I feel in every song

Dreams on fire
Higher n higher
Passions burning
Right on the pyre

Once far, forever yours
Give me
All your heart
Dreams on fire
Higher n higher

Dedicated to the Edward Cullen of my life, my Eddy. The one who showed me that there's more to a day than just Twilight!

Haven't Got The IQ To Name This One!

I feel so cut off from the blogosphere and my blog these days! Trust me, I deleted 6 first paras already!! I don't know how I want to begin! I'm irritated with the social networking sites too. I acquiesce with Lucky... Orkut, really is for stalkers and perverts, and also for people who have the IQ of Paris Hilton to not understand Facebook!!! Facebook, too, after a time, gets boring.... I mean, come on for how long are you gonna keep taking stupid quizzes that prove that you do have the IQ of PH, even though you do understand Facebook. (Yeah, I still take these quizzes....like you had to doubt if my IQ was anything great!!). I joined Twitter too. But I fail to understand why people call it the 'next big thing'. I don't see it like that...it's just about okay... !!

So, what do you do when you're bored of all these social networking sites? You switch on you TV and hope there's something watch-able being aired on TV. But, unfortunately all you can see is people eating worms, insects and other reptiles and arthropods, or bathing in a bikini...actually 'bikini' is also a very heavily clothed term for what those celebs wear.... or people being truthful. Let's begin with Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao.... It's the crassiest show on TV today. Period. I'm not gonna write more on it. I think, that the sets of Sach Ka Saamna should have a divorce lawyer and a police inspector on their sets...it'll make things easier for the participants and the society at large. I feel bad for the participants... they don't get anything if they miss one right answer.... they ruin their marriages and don't even get the money....not even of the levels they clear.....tch tch...! I used to really love MTV and Channel V....but all I can see there are the re-runs of Splitsvilla, Teen Diva or the Stunt Mania.... And Channel V's Xhausted is just pissing off. Why people participate in these shows is beyond my IQ! These shows are at least bearable... try watching Bindass' Dadagiri..... trust me, you'll my mentally marred forever! It beats me why there can't be more shows like Dance India Dance and India's Got Talent. The latter is by far the best show since Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai got over. Though, I'm really looking forward to Farah Khan's new show starting today.

And, if you're still alive and bored after all this, you can spend some time downloading songs. I spent an unbelievable 3 hours downloading What's Your Rashee's music....13 songs!! Only to hear songs like Su Che! Trust me, I'd rather listen to Himmesh on repeat!!! Till now, I always felt the lack of songs that have Gujju words in them... but, if songs are gonna be like Su Che.... then, please spare me horror!!!! Please use Punjabi in Hindi songs...the combo suits... Gujarati in Hindi songs make you feel like throwing up! Try imagining Mauja hi Mauja in Gujarati....! Deadlier than H1N1. Now, there are only 3 songs I liked in the entire WYR album... Jao Na (superb song!! I guess it's gonna rule the charts!), Bikhri Bikhri and the title song. The music of Wake Up Sid, just like it's lead actor is HOTTT! Amazing music. Be it the title track or Kya Karoon or Iktara... the entire album is super duper cool! (It's not Ranbir's love that's making me write this!). More Saiyyan from Tere Sanng is also a nice one. But the songs of the season have to be Aahun Aahun and Yeh Dooriyan!!!

So, the best bet to beat boredom still remains social networking sites...!! Am off to Facebook now, taking more quizzes and irrtating everyone on my friend list by my incessant status updates... yeah, I'm too lazy to switch tabs and use Twitter for microblogging!!! Yeah, Facebook reminds me of this status update one of my friend has put up and it says... Behind every beautiful girl is a dumbass guy who did her wrong and made her strong!!! I couldn't disagree more!!! I'll leave you with this noble thought...till next time, listen to Jao Na... (never mind the Baweja boy and PC's weird pout!)

LAK Review

Whoever says that a wounded knee is better than a broken heart? I really wanna meet that loser! You can at least walk without a limp with a broken heart!I've still not learnt walking without tripping, but I pride myself by never really falling. But, today I fell twice and tripped once in a span of 3 hours and hurt my right knee in the same place both the times! And God, that hurts! And there wasn't even an Edward Cullen to prevent me from falling! Fact sucks....Fiction rocks!!! I'll take a broken heart any day, at least the pain ain't evident to others! (Jokes apart, I'll take wounded knees and even broken elbows in exchange for a normal, unbroken heart!!)

I saw Love Aaj Kal, second day, first show! And it's strictly okay. I didn't like it much. In the first 15 minutes of the movie, I was whispering to Aanchal if it's the same Imitiaz Ali who's made Socha Na Tha and Jab We Met making this excuse for a movie! The only reason I saw LAK was Imitiaz Ali ( I HATE Saif and Deepika, BTW) and my undying love for the two movies he had made earlier. But this one will disappoint people. Especially the ones who've been on a staple diet of SNT and JWM. (Read me!)

Firstly, Saif doesn't look cool trying to do a Geet here. Guys who blabber unnecessarily aren't cute! Deepika can't act. Well, she was awesome in that Close-Up's Kya-aap-close-up-karte-haiiynn ad, but her awesomeness ended with that 30 sec ad! The problem with the movie was that the love story between Saif and Deepika didn't get time to develop.... maybe that's why the movie wasn't that great. The songs too, interrupt with the movie, not flowing effortlessly like they did in SNT and JWM. And Rahul Khanna is WASTED.... I mean he'd have been better than Saif playing Saif.

If you've seen all the three Ali movies, you can figure out that the basic story lines of all the three movies have been same... guy meets girl, they meet knowing they'd never meet again, have a gala time in that time because it ain't coming back, go their ways, get sad and sing amazingly woebegone songs, realise their love for the other when one of them is getting married! This seemed so aaawwww-sssoooo-cuutteee in SNT and JWM, but here, it's constipated!
Gosh! Seems like I've done a PhD in Imitiaz Ali movies! That's what happens to you if you're a compulsive JWM and SNT watcher and watch it everytime it comes on TV.

The only moments I enjoyed in the movie were the song Dooriyan, the sometimes-present-sometimes-past storyline (reminds me of the story I'm writing!!), the line Saif says when he's dropping a drunk Deepika home and when Deepika cries to herself in the climax when Saif finally comes to express his feelings. God, this scene was the best scene in the entire movie! And also when Neetu Kapoor appears in the end as Harleen Kaur.... as Rishi Kapoor's wife.... just an after thought....couldn't they have shown Ranbir as their son too, arey puri family picture ban jati....with bahu and bhatiji's boyfriend and all!!!

Go, watch it, only if you've got nothing else to do, but if you're a die hard Imitiaz Ali fan, DON'T GO!

P.S: Harini, I'll do the tag soon!

Dazzled!!

What dazzles me more? My eight year old cousin discussing the bullion trade with me or me successfully making a scrapbook for Aanchal without any pictures?? Blame it on the Libran indecisiveness or anything, I’m really confused at what really dazzled me last this week!

I’ve heard that American IQ is age divided by 10…. But I guess, that an NRI second generation IQ is age multiplied by 10!!! I was at a loss of words when an completely innocuous discussion, one wherein I was explaining my eight year old NRI cousin how 100 Rupees is not much…. It’s just about $2… just completely turns 360 degrees when my cousin, the same eight year old, starts talking about how an economy loses value if it starts printing more bills!!! My jaw touched the ground when my cousin said this! He’s an eight year old for crying out loud…. He’s supposed to be discussing Wii and PSPs and not the American economy!! To be honest, I never understood this concept of how inflation, printing more money and the gold reserve thing are all inter-related when I had asked my Dad when I was in 4th grade as to why doesn’t the government print more money and distribute it!! I understood it now, when I read it for my PIs! And my eight year old cousin also knows the American share price for Honda Motors and when he plays the ‘name countries’ game with me, he names countries like El Salvador, Chad, Lebanon, Micronesia and the likes, when I’m not getting over India, Pakistan, Italy and France!! And he knew Claude Monet’s style of painting at a time when I couldn’t even pronounce Monet right! (The ‘t’ is silent….. damned French!!) He doesn’t cease to dazzle me everday! I’m thinking of taking him with me to my PIs…. Maybe the panelists will give me admission on the basis of pedigree… I’ve tried going the marks way(and failed too!). These NRI kids are way smarter than their Indian counterparts! I wasn’t this smart when I was eight…. And I’m just assuming that I’m smart to begin with!!

I haven’t mentioned Aanchal in my blog since a long time, and I don’t want her to go in a depression thinking that I’ve forgotten her (our date’s on, Aanch… I’ll see you at Sahara Star on the 1st!). I was supposed to make a surprise scrapbook for her 21st birthday because she had asked me to do it! What an innovative way to surprise! And though, I kept telling her I won’t do it, I did it…. The quintessential best friend that I am!! And it’s turned out nice…. I’m a self confessed-self obsessed person, but still, I normally don’t brag about myself, but this scrapbook is looking really nice, because she never expected me to remember all her friends…even if she mentioned them just once in the 3 years that I’ve known her…. Yeah she’s got a pathetic memory herself… she forgets that I’ve got a Pentium IV built in my grey cells… I don’t forget things!! Aanch, make your list of 34 people…we’ll check if your list and the people in the scrapbook match! And, Thanks Aanch, for bringing out the creative painter in me…. I’d almost given up, but then the thing of doing the scrapbook entirely by myself made me do the art work too…. And I hope you like it (Radhika did the initial few… and later I almost traded her a lifetime of slavery from myside for her to do the rest as well!!) And Wow! I’m discussing your scrapbook here, when I know you’re gonna read my blog (you dare stop reading my blog, now that you’re into a B-school and all that!). I know, you’re spying on my mailbox to see who all are writing…. At least erase the evidence of the spying later on! The scrapbook doesn’t have a single pic….. trust me, you don’t know how excruciatingly painful it has been for me to keep no pics! I just want to see you smile on your birthday…. I hope the scrapbook is what you have imagined for yourself… if not, find new friends….!!

I’m very happy these days , now that my Mom’s finally given up and now I’m allowed to paint my nails red, black, blue and purple!! Yay!! My nails are half red and half black right now…. I’m thinking of opening a nail bar or something…. I think I can make money by this nail obsession of mine! Anyone interested in financing?? Maybe Aanchal, after she gets placed!!!

P.S : Listen to the song Total Eclipse of The Heart by Bonnie Tyler. It was one of the top 10 romantic songs…. So needless to say… it’s an amazing song…. Never before have I heard something like Once upon a time I was falling in love… and now I’m only falling apart… there’s nothing I can do to the Total Eclipse of the heart…!! This song has the most heart toucing lyrics…. This is the only song I listen to at full volume even when the singer is singing in high pitch! Gives me goose bumps, this song! Do tell me if you liked this song…!

Nails!!!

It's one of those unusual times when my sister is wondering if she's dreaming.... because I have a nail cutter in my hand.... to cut my own nails, that too voluntarily, without any 24 hours ultimatums from Mom to cut my nails, lest they be cut by her when I'm sleeping!! I hate this! I hate my life! Why do your nails grow so beautifully till one day, and the very next day after someone's appreciated them, do they have to chip.... right where your skin's attached to it...making you go through excruciating pain while cutting it.... both physical and emotional?!? Just like the emotional trauma I feel now, when I can't absolutely say that I love Irfan Pathan.... only because Edward Cullen flashes in front of my eyes. Why God, why? Why me?? Below is a picture of my nails....before I cut them! I'm sorry if it scares the faint hearted.... it always scares my sis!!

I don't get why my family hates my nails? I've even stopped scratching my sister (after of course she bled a lot many times!!) but then nails are my only defense mechanism , given that my punches/slaps/kicks don't hurt people. They don't even hurt mosquitoes, if I were to hurt them...!! So, now till 2 months, irritate me as much as you want.. I'm defenseless!! There are a lot many disadvantages of having nails though....like not being able to open jars, drawers etc... but, you've always had the physical strength of a 2 day old, so no one expected you to be able to open these any ways! The other disadvantage that has people concluding that you're in a relationship and you've gone all the way only because you're covered in bruises and scratches every morning! They don't even have the patience to have a look at your nails....!! I always get suspicious glances from my Mom....!! She seriously needs to look at other kids to know what a Tulsi I am!!
I've also stopped doing something that's again gonna shock my family beyond imagination.... I've decided to finally stop advicing people and playing Cupid.... I have to admit that I've lost my touch.... my advices don't work anymore! I guess the human race has evolved a lot after I did my psychoanalysis on it to have a better knowledge of both the sexes!! Jokes apart, I really don't understand why do the love stories I REALLY want to work out don't.... and the ones I'm... well... not so desperate about them working out.... work...and they work like hell!!! They don't even deserve it!! So, now after seeing the heartbreak of someone whom I didn't want to see in that way ever, I've finally taken the call on not playing Cupid ever!!! My friends will have to find a new Hitch for themselves! So, now, I'll have to be happy by having only one love story to boast about. The only love story that worked because of me and leave alone being grateful, people don't even remember things, otherwise they could've given 10 minutes of listening for the 3 years of their relationship that's working!! Anyways, I was wondering if I could put this on my resume....Playing Cupid.... may work, what do you think?

I think I'm on my way of getting over Edward Cullen! Finally!! But, I still remember how my face lift up when a friend asked me who's Edward Cullen!! Seriously, this guy, Edward is something! I just can't get over him!! And he even makes appearances in my dreams and give a lot of laughing matter for my friends! I was so depressed last week, when the W key got off from my keyboard.... and I couldn't write EdWard without a W! My keyboard reminds me that I underestimate myself a lot... I'm not technologically dyslexic that I thought I was.... for I can get my printer software working even when the computer walla failed....!! I seriously can teach these computer engineers a thing or two! So now, I've got one more thing to brag about!

P.S 1: I hate Dhoni.

P.S 2: Please listen to the song Lion by Rebecca St-James. It is from Chronicles of Narnia. Although it's from this movie, it really suits the Twilight thing... Especially Edward..... he's THE LION any lamb wouldn't mind falling in love with!! Feels like I'm living in a lion's mouth, but the lion is an angel.

I'm Still Bored...

I hate the Orkut team at Google... I mean whoever got the brainwave to come up with locks on scrapbooks and albums...?!?? I lose out on soooo much of gossip and scandalous pics because of these stupid locks..! I know these have been on since a long time... but, in times when one has a  vacation and has practinally nothing of national significance to do... what does one do?? Obviously roam around on Orkut! But these stupid locks!!! But, on second thoughts, Orkut sucks... no one comes online... I got only 3 scraps in like a month!! Once upon a time, I used to be getting 13 in a second... yeah, been of a popular type always!! Guess everyone's shifted to Facebook. Facebook was fun... only during exams... taking stupid quizzes, poking people, joining groups, becoming fans and everything was fun then.... but now.. even that sucks! There are STUPID quizzes on FB like...

1)
When will you die... I was supposed to die on 19 October 2008... 3 days after my 20th birthday... but I'm still alive...!!
2)Will you get swine flu? I didn't even bother to take this quiz.... Swine flu's already played spoilsport in my vacation plans... I'm sure Ankita will agree with me...Dudette, don't worry, we'll go to Greece together!
3)How gay are you.... S.P.E.E.C.H.L.E.S.S ........ coaxed a couple of guy friends to take the quiz...!! I wonder what would Zac Efron and K-Jo's quiz results look like??
4)What type of a shoe are you?? I guess what type of shoe will you throw would be more germane! I wonder how and why haven't there been shoes thrown in during IPL matches...they suck anyways!
5)Which molecule are you... I remember having taken this quiz... I was H20...!

There are many more.... try them... some are really intriguing!!!

I'm so bored! No calls... no messages... but then, I'm used to this... no one calls me anyways, except ofcourse when they're in a mess, or they've fought with their gf/bf/friend who's more than a friend/etc but now, not even that.... I'm bored of not dishing out advice... Even my sis has stopped calling me freeadvice.com ....... please yaar koi toh advice ke liye aao...! But it looks like I'm gonna be needing a lot of advice... as in what to do next...!! I'm so confused... thought I'd sit at home for a month and place things properly.... but... After meeting people in the wedding, I'm too wary of sitting at home and doing nothing... for all you may know, I might be dragged into the ladko ko milo, dekho, jaan lo, pehchan lo routine ( But no, my parents love me too much to marry me off before I'm 24!)!! But then being indecisive comes naturally to Librans... we don't have to try too hard!! I'm sure Rads will agree.... have pestered her for years... call karu ki nahi....message kar deti hoon...please temme what to do..I'm confused!!. God!! I miss those days... SP was fun!!

No good movies also to see. Saw
Welcome To Sajjanpur.... its a tad slow.... but a must watch. The songs are good too...!  I love diamonds... I mean... I'm yet to meet a girl who doesn't like diamonds! But now, after watching Blood Diamond, I feel guilty about diamonds.......... but diamonds are diamonds.... they're pretty... but then, now I know that they've cost someone their blood...so now, I'll buy conflict free diamonds!!. Saw a bit of Delhi Heights... I guess its the only movie where Neha Dhupia is tolerable...!! the songs are pretty good... especially Kitni Der Tak and Tere Bin. Aanch, it'll be a double treat for you... it's got Samrat and Kinshuk Mahajan!!!

I really need to watch some good movies and read a good book. I'm reading
The White Tiger .. by Aravind Adiga... but I'm disappointed with it. I don't like his writing stlye... not even one bit. The story seems to be good, but the writing style is killing it. For a story, the way it's written makes or breaks the story..like Harry Potter and Chetan Bhagat novels... not great stories... but their writing styles are so captivating that you can't keep the book down until it's over! This is where Aravind loses it... atleast with me... the book's been with me since the past one week but all I've been able to read is only 60 pages!! If Khaled Hosseini had written this book, trust me, the story would've gone to a completely different level. But this is only my opinion..... there have been a lot of other people who've liked it... ! I'm dying to read a good book.... a really really good book.... which I can't put down till it's over.... BTW, there's this not-so-talked about book, Bombay Rains, Bombay Girls, by Anirban Bose about a medical student from Ranchi who's studying at JJ Hospital... pretty neat read... very light... time pass reading types! But it's got this one line which answers the question Ankita asked me months back in our "private lab" to which I didn't have an answer... she asked, "What exactly is love" and I just couldn't describe it... but this book says it very beautifully in just one line, "Love is everything you want it to be, and nothing you don't!" Wonderful. But, you need to experience love to understand the beauty of this sentence. So if you have any suggestions on what I should read after dumping The White Tiger... please post a comment!!

I had mentioned writing a new story... I even created a new blog for it... but now, I've dumped the idea of writing it... it's too close to my heart... the story... but then for a change, I listened to Rao... he had told me, "Close the chapter and throw the book."  That's what I did Rao....  I closed the chapter, finished the story, burnt the book... and blew away the ashes... But the "happily ever after" is still left... and one day, I'll get the perfect and they lived happily ever after for my story!!

So till next post... keep reading, commenting, breathing, talking, coming online and praying that Orkut scraps off its locks!!!

P.S: Punjab's No. 2 on the rankings table.... my interest in IPL is back..... and Irfan was looking soooooooooooooooooooooo HOT in the last over against KKR... responiblity makes guys look hot!!!

January 11, 2009

The CAT woes continue...!!

OK the honeymoon is over and now no more watching stupid senseless movies in the name of completing the journal (I'll have to complete the remaining part of the journal umm..er.. well by actually reading what's written in the journal I'm copying from).... now is the time to brace myself for the RESULTS of the n number of entrance exams I gave and be slapped right in the face everytime! I see myself taking a drop and giving all the exams next year again... oh F**K...that means spending 7300 bucks again?!? No!! (7300 only if the test fees remain constant and don't get affected by the inflation/recession!) And yeah, will give the tests again next year only if I'm eligible next year... i.e. I score more than 50% in my graduation.... an event which I don't see happening this year... hell ya... I have only one chance here!

For all the people whom I've subjected to my MBA woes, I got 90.47 percentile. And to be honest I feel happy and sad.
Happy because
  1. My sister stopped laughing at my Math skills (finally). I did it... got two digit, positive marks and cleared QA cut off only for the third time in my life... yay!!
  2. I stopped quitting and escaping... I fought!!
  3. I think it's a great score for a first attempt.... I expected only 20 percentile from me... 10 minutes before the paper!! I was just being realistic... I thought the 40-question section was Quants!!! I would've got only 9 percentile then!!
  4. My parents are happy
  5. I'm in the top 10% people in India!! yay! (a very subjective statement, though!!)
Sad because:
  1. This was probably my only shot at getting this score.... it's not that I can't get it again... all it's gonna take is one sarcastic laughter from my sis and I'll be all charged up to prove her wrong!... but jokes apart... next year I'm not gonna have 40-question verbal to push my score!! To add to it, CAT's online next year. I can't solve papers on the computer... the paper-pen feeling is essential for an exam. Next year, verbal ain't gonna be less ambiguous as it was this time! (Thank You God!!) This time ka verbal was like a cake walk as compared to CAT 07!!
  2. If I could get 90 percentile by studying in a month... I can imagine what my score would've been had I started studying the minute I joined my classes!!(July 07!)) 99.99 percentile for sure!! The classic Nupur regret!! I have this regret everytime I give an exam... yet I don't sudhrofy!! (Now that CAT's over... you'll not find me jhadoing hi-fy English words!)
  3. To be honest I expected more in Verbal... I'm not being greedy yaar...!! TIME analysis said 98 percentile... but when you get 95... you're shocked!!
  4. Because my relatives think 90 is the awesomest score anyone in the family has got(irony: I'm only the second person to give CAT in my family!) and even with 90... I'm as stranded as I would've been with a 50.... or 70! It's just to impression jhaado in fronta people that you got 90...!!
  5. IIM-A is IIM-A!!! And I'm not going there. :(

IIFT results were out weeks back and I'm not going there as well. SNAP results out as well... and don't even talk about it to me! TIME and IMS analysis said a score a night before the result.... and the result the next morning was a cool 19 marks less!! I've never been more shattered before! Goes there... 2 probable calls..! I mark my answers in the question papers and then correspondingly in the answer paper... only to minimise marking errors.... I know that is the only reason for the low score I got... but somehow... I can't make so many marking errors...!! My numbers aren't this bad!! Couldn't even bloody cry for 10 hours.... was in a complete shock..! Even brushed my teeth for half an hour so that I didn't have to speak!! But I've let it go... Mom always had something against me going to Pune... guess she's right, as always.... and as always... I didn't listen to her only to regret later..! The doors are closed.... I have the faith in myself to be able to open a window..!

After SNAP fiasco... I don't expect anything from NMAT. I'm mentally prepared for a drop...! Now, nothing can break my morale!! I'm prepared for the worst too... no MBA, just in case I don't get 50% in my Univ exams!! I'm serious!! I'm barely able to rote now...!! And suddenly biology seems less interesting than Maths... never imagined I'd say this in my lifetime! My Mom mentioned keeping the MS option open... and I looked straight in her eye and said... you rather get me married... I CAN'T do MS!! Even one of my teachers asked me about my plans after TY... I said MBA and I could hear her saying "Thank You for sparing Biotechnology!!" to herself!

All in all.... the end mood I'm in is HAPPY. A firm believer of "Whatever happens, happens for the best". I've gotten over CAT/IIFT/SNAP. I'll get over NMAT and TY too..!(I can get over anything but love... ok sorry... sad joke!). I already have an alternate profession in mind... being a blog reviewer... If such a thing exists!! Now, that reminds me... I'm dying to read a COOL blog( my definition of a 'COOL blog' : A blog which is funny, witty, sarcastic, easy reading and has me mentioning it to my friends... they aren't interested in intellectually civilised things like BLOGS!! But I do my job... talk aimlessly and they do theirs... not listen to me and yeah give me the "Shut-up-you-blogger" look!!) So please, if you have any such blog in mind... lemme know.. I'll thank you in my next post and immortalize you in the hallowed posts of my blog! Please... refrain from self-advertising....! Self advertise only if you're GOOD! (my definition of COOL and GOOD are the same, FYI)

Nupur's Song Recommendation: "Take Me To Your Heart" by Micheal Learns To Rock.... a lovely song...! Read the lyrics on my friend Pooja's facebook profile.. Thanks Pooja! See, my "immortalizing-people" spree has begun, so you better suggest some GOOD stuff!!

Movies, Movies.... and many more movies!!

Hello... Happy new year!! Hope you did something more happening than what I did on the New Year's Eve (I was sitting at home, getting bored, for the records!). Now, I didn't really feel like partying... for the basic reason that keeping aside my 1.5kg heavy journal was proving to be a tough task for me! Now, in the past week, people were spared of my posts because I was making yet another futile attempt of finishing my journal... guess it'll be done when my kids would be getting ready for their convocation! I don't see anything happening before that!

I've seen a looottt of movies while completeing the journal. The maximum being 3 on one day... Saanwariya, Dil Kabaddi and Sorry Bhai on one day... from 8pm to 3.30 am! Now, I know people hated Saanwariya, but I really liked it.. that's why I saw it for the second time. Firstly, it was a SLB movie, secondly, I love the story(the book is much better though... it's called The White Nights, by the way. Didn't mention the author because you'd anyways not know how to pronounce his Russian name!) thirdly, Ranbir Kapoor and fourthly, I really like Sonam Kapoor... she's much better than Deepika! Genes do help sometimes! Saanwariya is really nice if you don't mind the pestering songs and the slow pace. I'm waiting for another Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam from SLB.. it's time!!

Dil Kabaddi... well, I don't really know what genre to put this movie in... it was really something! I guess it was like the softest version of soft porn minus the nudity! The movie was not even average... had to sit through it, actually (I was too lazy to change the DVD!!). But there was one thing I learnt from this movie... that for some people falling out of love and then falling in love with someone else still while being in a relationship with the former is so freaking easy!! Gosh!

Sorry Bhai was nice. Chitrangada is pretty! And the story was nice actually.... not very good... but bearable... actually right after Dil Kabaddi, anything except RGV movies is bearable! The songs are good too. The end was really nice... the twist of course!

Had seen Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi the earlier day. It's a sweet movie... actually much better than what I had expected. When I heard that that Anushka dame doesn't recognize SRK, I thought what crap has Aditya Chopra got down too... maybe he was suffering from the RGV fever... to descend from the height of creative ingeniuty to utter rubbish! If you don't mind this point, the movie becomes really nice. SRK as Suriji was too cute... all husbands should be like that! And all boyfriends should propose like the way Raj did!! The songs are not great except for Tujh main Rab dikhta hain. I never liked this song earlier when Ajay and Aanch used to sing it. I have even laughed at my friends when they said that could see Rab in their love.. but when I saw that song, even I could. I know I'm born filmy, but seriously, it's not that you see your love's photo in God's photo or anything(not that filmy also!), but when you listen to that song, all you can think of is that one person you love/loved/thought you don't love, but actually you do. Rab ne, in no way is anyway closer to DDLJ... no songs are of that calibre... I won't even compare any other aspects... DDLJ was like Bible.... and there's no other Bible. Waiting for the New Testament from Aditya Chopra, SRK and Kajol... what they created was MAGIC.... !

Saw Hijack too.... and still alive. Esha Deol contradicts my theory that genes help! This movie should get the BEST DIALOGUES award. Sample this
Esha: I'm scared
Shiney: It's normal in these(hijack) situations!
Esha: This is a hijack situation.... it's a hijack... do you bloody even know what a Hijack means??
I'm speechless...!! I'll leave it at that. Nothing new in this movie. Been there, seen it all.

Seen a lotta inconsequential movies too, thankfully not full.... my patience gave way in 10 minutes and for once my laziness also obliged me by letting my finger move on the remote.... like Koi Dil Main Hain(no, it's not a K serial.. but a 3 hour movie), Cash... and the likes..!! I seriously need some journal and movie rehab now!!

Now, for some updates on the new releases. Marjaani is awesome... listen to it at full blast... a lovely track! SRK looks fantastic in the song. The other one with Deepika is well un-comprehendable. I can't make out what Neeraj Sridhar is singing..! And Deepika... er.. well... the size of her tops is never more than the size of a bikini top!!! Seriously! She dances well, but somehow she doesn't have the feminine grace that Sonam Kapoor has... something that Madhuri and Aishwariya had...! Sonam is fantastic in Dilli 6... the song Masakali is great... ofcourse AR Rahman!! I really like this dame.First actress I've liked since Madhuri Dixit. (liked Ash only in HDDCS...she was phenomenal in that movie!). I just hope she doesn't become bitchy in some time! I want Victory to release really soon... at least then will they stop showing the promos..! I've jettisoned my plans of watchin this movie... I'll watch Brett Lee in the IPL...!! Wanting to end this post on a good note... Slumdog Millionaire is finally releasing.... I hope they release it in English also..! Jai Ho... is an awesome track!
