Pain Breeds Art!!!

Pain breeds art! If you disagree, you can check your friends' facebook status updates!! Those 19 line essays people write as their stat-ups, man, seriously, it feels like Facebook is full of Devdases! But, jokes apart, seriously, I've always felt that pain, really does breed art. Almost all of my posts that I feel proud of and still can't believe that it was me who's written them, have been a result of immense pain. Try sitting in Cell Biology lectures, desmosomes, gap junctions, striated muscles et al, taught by a teacher with the most morose expressions, soporific voice, abstruse pronunciations and well, a dull and drab subject...what you get is pain..... unbearable PAIN!!! Third degree torture is much better!!! That is when, art happens and you write incredibly great (yes, modesty is damned in this part of the blogosphere!) articles! But when the pain is taken away from you and you are happy, the stuff you write is much worse than watching KRK romance Rakhi Sawant....even for a die hard romantic like moi! So, I have come to the conclusion that if I want to blog like I used to, I need my Cell Biology lectures!! And, ofcourse, I need an ambience of Lakshmi, Hetvi and Mansh making a note of the words wrongly pronounced by the teacher, Aanchal doing Quants besides me, Ajay and Ankit trying to impress a certain chick in class by attempting to listen to the dead lecture and asking questions (like how!!!???) and Ankita sleeping and/or texting/talking to someone over the phone!!! But, since this is never gonna happen *having a huge lump in my throat*, I thought its time I find another Cell Biology in MBA! I found my Operations Management lectures equally painful, but I'm still unable to write like the old me wrote!! Maybe, it was all in the ambience!! Like Lakshmi rightly said, I've run out of topics to write after Mithibai got over!!

Seriously, Operation Management is PAINFUL! Anyways, it's so funny that how used to we get to people and things surrounding them! And then we don't even realise that we are having acceptance problems with other people, only because we want other people to be like these people....like I expect my new friends to not get annoyed if I use her freshly waxed hand as a white board and make notes on her hand and not my notebook...only because Aanchal never had a problem when I did that with her....or like just get away with anything by saying Forget about it kardo like Lakshmi used to say, and not expect people to doubt your English knowledge when you make statements like these!! And, expect people to pull out chairs, carry our bags, do your work for you only because Ajay and Ankit always did that!! Or expect to be taken care of and being pampered and sheltered from your problems and have people rolling up their sleeves to hit other idiots only because you cried because of them! Shit man! I sound like such a spoilt brat!

But, I love people at my new college too. It's just not fair to expect your new group to be like your old group. One thing you learn from these oldies with work-ex is to let go of things, however painful it maybe! I don't have an acceptance problem I just have a let go problem! That is why I'm still talking Biotech, missing Biotech, the lab and the people who made the lab a 'private' lab!! On second thoughts, desmosomes, gap junctions and striated muscles are anyday better than depreciation, defered revenue and capital expenditure!!

Anyways, enough of the philosophical talks! It's just so strange how you still act like a teenager, despite being 21 (and definitely not looking a day older than 16) when the guy you're crushing on passes by you and all the people knowing about it nudge you if you want an 'introduction'! Yeah, there's this super hot guy in college, with a very un-hot name (yeah, there's a lot in a name, Mr. Shakespeare got the funda completely wrong!!) unfortunately not in my class, who is rich as well.... so, I finally have some eye candy to look at in life! I've never really had hot guys studying in my college before! Damned Biotech...we just had 4 guys for 28 girls!! With Ajay and Ankit being brother material and Sean and Ratan never been seen in class.... Mithibai always felt like SNDT to me! The only positive thing being the hot BMM and BMS guys of UPG who shared their class floor with us!! And yeah, these guys are HOT!! So, if there's any Mithibai Biotech junior of mine reading my blog, you now know where to go bird watching! So, chuck those journals and enjoy your life in TY....go get a car, bunk a test and escape to Bandra...... you'll regret not doing it!!

P.S: It's so weird that I used to bunk lectures at Mithibai and ran away to Bandra (Carter Rd and Bandstand) to eat....and now, from my college at Carter Road I come to eat at Mithibai!!!! Life is strange!!! So fucking strange!

I'm kinda back!

OMG! I haven't blogged since so long! I actually have forgotten blogging now! I can see so many people heave a sigh of relief, reading this! So, where do I start....umm I don't know! I just suddenly had this feeling that I'm neglecting my baby(my blog, you sillies), so I'm here trying to type whatever gibberish hits my neurons. If you have topic suggestions, kindly pass them on!

I think that they should rename MBA to 'self-actualization' ! I never knew so much about me before I started my MBA! Yeah, the classic question of 'Why MBA' and 'Tell me something about yourself' still haunts even after getting into MBA! We had a lecture and all the professor made us do was write 3 drafts on the latter question! And, while I was writing, I kinda had that 'dimaag ki batti jali' moment.....there are soooooo many things about us, which we don't know! And we never really bothered finding out. And I'm loving this self-actualization journey. It's this time when you realise that your strengths have been your weaknesses and your weaknesses have been your real strengths! I'm not making sense...... welcome to the MBA club.... hardly anything makes sense here!

As usual, Aanchal is right! She always says that things happen in her life first, and then after a lag, the same things happen in my life! And still, I'm unprepared for life! Her B-school began before mine, and she always said that these 24-year-old oldies speak more sense than we do! And, I refuted the claim by saying that we, too, have seen a lot of life to speak sense! Now, when I have a friend who's from the same league.....not the 24 year old oldies league....but the 22 year olds' league, I realise, that really, these oldies, actually speak sense!! They really, have profound thoughts!! I still remember gazing with my mouth wide open listening to my friend tell me things about me, which I also didn't know, and he noticed in me in just a day! How many of you (my friends, and people who've been reading my blog since long to know me kinda well) knew that I was a perfectionist!?? I didn't know that about me, trust me! My best friend of six years, Radhika, admitted that she didn't know this about me as well!

Now, after a long hiatus of around 4 years, I'm back to my oldest old self! I've changed so many times since school got over that I don't know who's the real me! Yeah, so I think I've gone back to school self. I've started shouting left right center at people who piss me off. No longer am I the let-it-be-na-chod-na-re person I had become since 4 years. If someone's doing something wrong, they better be prepared to take it from me! I actually shouted at a class of 120 for passing cheap comments and distracting my group during our presentation. And, boy! that felt good! And, now after a month in college, I've begun to feel that I need anger management classes soon before I break someone's skull in college! Anyways, managers ought to have a calm head! My degree college friends are sure wondering how I'd look shouting at people...or rather they are wondering if I'm bluffing again!

It's just so wonderful how I can write so much shit even when I have nothing to write about!! I'll end this post here. Hopefully I'll come back soon with something that'll remind you of my old self.....something that looks like my blog posts of yore, which were not this shitty!!!

P.S : Thought for the day: Life always gives you options..... it's for you to take them or leave them!

Nupur Bhayani,

My Best Friends...

The last time I wrote something on this topic was an essay for my English class in 4th standard.... around 11 years back! And now, at 20.8 years, I'm all charged up to write on My Best Friends... people who're responsible for taking care of me outside the sheltered confines of my family. Radhika, Rao, Aanchal and Ajay are the heroines and hero of my post. It's really personal to talk about my equation with them, but then, today, I'm just so happy after a looooong time and they're the reason behind it! So, it's them all in the way on my blog!

I've never really talked about my equation  with Radhika and Rao ever on my blog. There's no need for it, because somehow I feel that the relationship we have transcends words, because I, honestly don't have words for them. From listening to the same old stories of mine for 1000 times and still being game for it for the 1001 time, Rads, you seriously have some patience man! And you never even interrupt me and tell me the count of the incident that I'm regaling to you! And you're the sweetest person along with Akshata.... because you two are the only two people on Earth who laugh like crazy on my jokes and make me feel that I'm good at being funny! From being the only friend I had for almost 3 months..from wiping and consoling and saying the same things over and over again without getting frustrated for 4 years ...to having the guts to put up with a 2 hour-every day crying person for 3 months , to still putting up with my BYEs when I'd be with him, leaving you in the lurch! I couldn't have asked for a better best friend!

Rao.... I know you still hate me for eating that Fruit and Nut which was meant for someone else, but dude, you should've researched before giving a gift to the girl you were planning to ask out! I can't help it if she doesn't like chocolates and I'm the chocoholic best friend of hers! But, seriously, the way you used to come online late at night only because I was lonely in US with no one online during my 'awake' hours.... that meant so much to me! Trust me, the chocs I got for you from there were nothing for what you'd done for me in those 3 months! From hating to a person, not beacuse he didn't like you, but because I had cried for him.... to listening to my Eostrogen mood swings every three days.... you come next to Rads in the patience-o-meter!!

Aanch...I call her my soul-sister. The only place where we differ is that I'd be cool with a not-so-tall guy unlike her!! From liking the same guys to fighting over them (well, more like me abusing her because she'd be the one who'd go and talk...just taking advantage of the fact that I can't really talk to people I like!) to crying one after the other.... almost everytime... ain't it... one week you... one week me! And of course celebrating our first-time-meeting anniversary on 10th Aug! There are so many instances with her that it'd be an encyclopedia when penned down! From the way we both felt that 'void' no one else did at Hyatt's coffee shop the day after my birthday ....by just the way our eyes drifted away while talking....to keeping that hand on my head at the Suncity bus-stop with me trying so hard to tell you things but just couldn't get myself to talk about it... to fighting over Mohali and Chennai.... to keep gushing over Edward Cullen and various other hunks (except Nauman and ZAc Efron...I hate them, they're **y!)... to making deals over extra-marital affairs with the other's husband... to snatch the other's baby name, the baby's place in the Indian Cricket Team (jersey no 11!!)... to promising to snatch only my temporary pyaar and leaving my permanent pyaar all for myself...to rolling your sleeve in the middle of the road to bash up the epicenter of all my troubles.... to that one conversation at the Window sill in Vapi at 3 in the morning, that just showed me how strong a person I've been and which changed my life. Forever. Thanks for forcing me to talk that day.... I would'nt have been able to write about Ajay otherwise! And if I don't get the first call after your water breaks from your hubby.... I'll run away with him while you're still in labour! Remember my warning!!

Ajay was the third particpant of Aanchal and my Window Sill convo at Vapi... during our IV there....well, like I said, the night of 13th Jan .... changed my life, for good. I got a new best friend!! From keeping me sane one month before the Boards so that I could write my exams (yeah, and then giving me murderous looks when I'd taken a supplement!!)... to clearing my head every 5 hours everyday during March.... to being on mute conference for 3 hours so that I wouldn't break down while talking... to wanting to massacre everyone I knew at one point of time because they all were only aggravating things and not alleviating pain... to always be the one who'd get a smile on Aanch's and my face....and of course.... for getting Aanchal and me to abuse and think cheap....People tried, but couldn't do it for 2 years... but you did it in what...2 days?! Shit man! You're going to hell, Ajay! BTW, you owe me a Fruit and Nut for 15th March!
And if you don't pick up my calls in 5 rings after you get married or move in with your girlfriend (if you're lucky to land one!) because you were busy.... you'd get a kick from me on your self-proclaimed callipygian ass! (I wanted to kick in a more strategic position but then, I want you to give me a niece so that I can name her something that doesn't sound like FLICKA! It seriously sounds like a shoplifter's name!)

For people who've read this, must be wondering what a sad person I am....to be crying all the time..! But no, it was just the past 5 months which have been bad.... only because Murphy's Law came into picture..... every bad thing possible....happened....at the worst possible time! But now, I'm back...to my old self.  Thanks to Ajay and Aanchal today... Gosh! I've never laughed as much as today ever in my life! Freaking crazy!! BTW, I'd like to warn the four of you, that when you're taking the GD and PI of the guy wanting to marry me... you better be damned good at it...! Because if the guy I marry turns out to be a jackass in the end.... I won't leave you alive! I've just given you one responsibility in my entire life...so you better not disappoint me! Rads you have to make sure he's better than him.... Rao you don't have to get any guy from areas like Chinchpockli and Naala Sapara for me or someone Atal Bihari Vajpayee's age for me. LK Advani's age won't do either! I know I'm a big kabab main haddi... but please don't be a sadist! Aanch, I trust you like hell in the PI thing... I'm sure my prospective groom'd come out and tell me, "Your friends, either are big time sadists or they just simply love you to death" after YOU interview him! And Ajay.... you've gotta make sure he has conviction in his voice when he says he loves me (if ever there's a guy who would!!).

You Know You're A Graduate When...

This post is dedicated in the loving memory of all those school years, when everyone asked you to enjoy them, but you were only interested in looking forward to the glamorous college life. By the time you're settled in college, you're too sick of the system, cramming and everything to do with education and you want to show your talent to the world. And by the end of the entire process, you're heard telling this to your school going(near to exiting school) cousins, "School life is, infact the best period of one's life..... "And again, they don't listen to you and the vicious cycle continues. Sorry for such a useless start, what I wanted to say in this post is how you can identify a graduate amongst a crowd of people.

  1. They're almost always frustrated in life. The reasons for which vary maybe one of
  • My life sucks, but girlfriend doesn't. ( a guy reason for frustration)
  • My boyfriend's such a jerk... he's never there when I need him... his IPL is more important.. his football with friends is more important...everything is more important than me... I know he doesn't love me anymore.... all men are alike.... blah blah blah... (a girl's reason... I've deleted the other 9 of 10 parts of the rant for the lack of space here.)
  • WTF?!?! I'm 20... and STILL single?!? Where have all the dudes gone? So here goes my dream of having a love marriage!! (Aanchal and my reason!!)
  • Will I get 632/700 or 630/700..... It's all in two marks that I'd come second and not first....I'm tensed!! (Toppers' reason! Losers!!)

     2.  They're almost always confused in life. The reasons for which maybe one of
  • What to wear today....  baby pink top on lavendar capris or a classic white one?? (The (ex)college babe's reason)
  • Whom to say yes to..... guy 1 or guy 2 OR (options don't cease for them) guy 3..!! (Almost all my female friends' reasons! Trust me, even if they pass me like 10% of the guys they have, I'd have  a new guy to go out with every evening for atleast 3 months... and I'm NOT exaggerating... I had actually calculated the numbers!!!!)
  • Now that I didn't get through MBA.... what the hell do I do with my life!! Job?? But where? Or Masters??From where...oh no... more entrances!! Marriage... uhh forget it... out of question! Sit at home... Suits fine!!! What do I do?!?! (This is also a reason for frustration, forgot to mention there...Anyways, this is well, my entire MBA gang's reason... if you read in the papers about mass suicides, in all probabilities, it'll be us!)
  • What do I watch today.... MI 3 or The Bourne series?? (Aanchal's reason!!) I say, Top Gun Aanch... I'll come too, again!! (BTW, Tom Cruise can cause female genocide with that smile of his in this movie.. and that inverted dive with the MiG..!! Man!!!!!)
  • Whom do I really really fall in love with today... Irfan or Brett?? (My reason!)

     3. They're almost always in hatred with someone. They most hated list comprises of..
  • Their almost illiterate relatives who give out career advice like they're Sameer Barua or something.
  • Again, their relatives, who keep on perstering them with: So what're you gonna do now?? Job?? Where?? Why not here?? Why there??It's not that good...What kind of pay would you get?? What're the working hours?? All this even before you've decided if you wanna work or rot at home.
  • Their aunties, who's only aim in life is to see you get married. Even if the last time she met you was when you were in Huggies. And the love she has for you is only a little more than what Bhajji has for Symonds' mother.
  • Their parents, for, they continue to think that they're good for nothing and totally useless, even when that's not the case! And they also pester you with the same questions as the relatives do. Do all these 45+ do a diploma course in irritating 20 years or what? No offence to parents... but sometimes they should give the kids some time to figure things out...!! But then, afterwards you realise that like always your parents were right, yet again!!
  • Their siblings... because you're really useless and jobless right now, they make you do all their work, they treat you like a piece of shit(which they always do) and they kick you out of your OWN room because they want to study!
  • Their friends, because they continue to show no signs of growing up since their Huggies days... they're as juvenile as before... the only comforting factor being that their toilet habits aren't as juvenile!
  •  One more reason for hating friends is that their exams begin the day yours got over!! If there are 3 best friends, never should the three separately take up Biotech-Pharmacy-Engineering.... trust me, you'll never be able to meet each other for 4 years... because of the other idiots' 4 yr courses!
  • The IPL team they supported.... because they almost never win! Murphy's Laws, I tell you!
  • The book they last read ... because it got over!!! I mean books with characters like Edward Cullen should go on and on and on and on and on forever!! (Extra info: Twilight is much better than Harry Potter!!)
  • Your couch.... it isn't as fluffy now, as it was when your vacations began!
  • Orkuters and Facebookers and MSNers... no one comes online!!! These places used to be packed during exams!!

P.S 1: Sorry for the language in this post... it's obscene!!! I'm totally frustrated and that's evident!!
P.s 2: Aanch, thanks for the idea of this post!!

I'm Gonna Miss These Days.... I'm Gonna Miss My College Days...!!!

* Dedicated to my TYBSc Biotech......oops...Last Year Biotech pals..... (yeah the 'BSc' thing hurts!)

You know, this is human tendency so you can't really blame this one on me.... to want something to get over soon and when it actually does, you wish you could have it a tad longer! It just tantamounts humans are greedy.... greedier than even engineers for that matter! (Don't blame me again, engineers themselves admit that they're the most greedy souls!) Yeah, so what my point was that all through last year I wanted Biotech to get over as soon as possible..... but now when the end has begun, its all freaking me out.... leaving the friends....the college....the class...the lab... and most importantly, leaving Biology..... one thing I know ....err KNEW the best!

My University Practicals are over.... and this is when the realization dawned upon me.... Holy Shit.... this is the last time in the Lab! Now when I think of the last year in the lab, I can't help but just marvel at the guts we had! According to the Safety chapter in my Journal.... eating, drinking and talking in the lab is like blasphemy because of the close proximity to bacteria..... but I don't remember doing anything apart from these in the lab! We never really performed experiments.... even if we did, we screwed up the protocol and the reading were never right.. never means NEVER...! And still our exams rock... its just sheer genius, you know!

The fondest memory of the lab has to the PRIVATE LAB! It was a part of the makeshift lab we were in.... and this was the part of the lab where there were no teachers and only here did the burners work.... so we performed(??) all our experiments here between eating brownies, khakhras etc, gossiping and most important of all, clicking pictures during the practicals with funky looking test tubes(Folin-Wu tubes used for the estimation of glucose in blood.... see, I told you, I had studied for my pracs!) posing like we're having tequilla shots from it.....! This lab, I'll also remember for the cockroaches....! Bloody idiots! Also for the the impromptu plans to Bandra.... sample these conversations....

Nupur:     Freak man.... I've not studied for this transposons ka test yaar
Lucky:     Who has?
Ankita:     The weather is so nice.... I feel like going to Bandstand re...!
All of us looking at her..
Nupur:      Ek test bunk mara toh chalega yaar.... Chalo jaate hain
Hetvi:      No re... test hain re....
Lucky:      Lets get moving.....lets go....!!
Hetvi:      Ok....fine....lets leave college before I start feeling guilty!!!
Ankita:     Yipee!!

Ankita:     (in the private lab, while staining the slide and eating the last piece of oil-                 free... health concious khakhra.... must be from her dabba only!) Kya pakk          raha hain...
Lucky:       Bhuk lagi hain...
Hetvi:        Aaj bahar khaenge....
Nupur:       Option nahi hain..... saare dabbe daff chuke hain!
Ankita:       Lets go to Rennaissance....
All:             Haha... Jokes...!!! You're funny, Ankita!
Ankita:       What? I have 6 free buffet lunch passes....! And they're expiring today...!
All:             F**k..... Are you serious?!?
Ankita:       Yes...!

I know, there's nothing great in these conversations...... but they were actually whatever LIFE we had in college.... which actually came after 4 years of home-college-classes-home routine! Wrong time to get a life, I know!

What I'm gonna miss are the people... Ankita, Hetvi, Lucky, Manshi, Fatema, Ajay, Ankit.... and Aanchal(dudette you don't have a choice... you've gotta be with me forever!). This was probably the only place where there was reverse discrimination.... girls exploited, (wo)man handled guys, made them do all the work and they did (except carrying our pink colored bags for us...all other colors were ok!). Hats off to Ankit's tremendous patience.... of clicking over 200 pics a day and still suggesting poses for the 201st(dude.. you'll get a special brownie baked by me....ok ok fine by my Mom...for my saree pics..!!I just love them)! To Ankita's "What-are-you-saying..." expression..... trust me...this is like the most mellifluous music to a gossiper's ears..... complete disbelief and shock from the reciever! Lucky's sarcasms.... reminds me of the person I was 3 years back....the same sarcasms with the same expressions!! Ajay being our "Kala Ramu" and doing all our work... Mansh's partying tales... Fatty's not-even-one-bad-hair-day-or-a-bad-clothes-day... Hetvi's meeting half the city on roads.... and Aanchal's Punjabi.... this multi-lingual group was moulded into one culture....language rather... by her! And yeah, the chole of course!! And my Dad wonders how I started talking Punjabi after going to Mithibai!! Man!! I'm gonna miss this!!

I'm gonna miss freaking out my Mom by telling her the exploits of our lab.... eating while using bacteria...and most often than not...without washing hands....and surprisingly not falling sick!! See, there's a logic to it.... If you put live Salmonella in your stomach....its only gonna get immune to it... and you can eat whatever street food...from wherever you want!! Of not sitting in lectures.... how on Earth am I gonna get my inspiration to write my articles??? Gosh.. I guess I'll go there next year as well..... to get 'inspired' for my articles. My best work has come when I've written articles during a boring lecture....whose topic you come to know only when the topic's over! I remember my Dostana Spoof.... I guess one of my best works....which came in those 48 minutes of a senseless lac operon lecture which was as simple as 2+2=4.... but the teacher made it out to be as complicated as figuring out the way to find a way through a guy's ego!! I'm gonna miss it.... miss it all...!

Gonna miss you all!! Gonna miss the window sill talk at 2 in Vapi....gonna miss the strength you gave me to take steps I would never take otherwise....gonna miss the "hugging spree" ...hugging as if we're meeting next straight in 2020...gonna miss blowing up money on xerox....some of which you already had...gonna miss the dabbas... whom will I now pass on my share of pasta and cannelonni to?!? But I'll always remember that I don't order for something else now, when pasta is ordered... you guys taught me to eat pasta!!! You made impossible possible!! I know, I've made a lot of people sad by this post....but...I needed to write about the fun we had....had to relive those memories..! Please tell me if you liked the post...!!

P.S:    Listen to the song " I'm gonna miss my College Days" by Gaurav.... its nice!

P.S 2:  Forgot to mention that I'll miss playing Asshole....the card game Sean taught us with Sean, Lucky and Ratan!!

February 4, 2009

Buh-Bye....Till May (hopefully I stay outta blogspot till then!)

OK.. I'm back again.... only to say goodbye again...!! Well, too much to do .... very less time. Got my prelims beginning next week.... CET in the middle of prelims.... NMIMS GD-PI after that.... which means that the preparation should be done right now...! And the best part of it all... My University exams from April... practicals in March... and I'm still xeroxing notes... simply put... I still haven't started studying...I just wish that I get up one day without the question " Which notes do I have to xerox today?". Life couldn't get worse.... And sprinkle a heartbreak on that.... and trust me... Life, seriously couldn't be meaner to you. Already in shit...and Life's continuing putting more shit on me...! And it's not exactly a Slumdog moment too..!

About TY.. well, I've finally started studying.... hopefully I should be able to finish it before the exam ends...! About my prelims... I dunno if I'd be able to give it... I've injured my right thumb.... And I need some recuperating time for CET... gotta solve 200 goddamned questions in 150 minutes! So, hope I get well soon before Monday...wanna give the prelims.. I've given up my 'giving up' habits!

Finally got one 'call' this year... from NMIMS...in a place where there's reservation for me... yay!! I feel like dancing in joy but then the thought of GD sucks out all the happiness outta me...! Kinda confident about PI.... because everyone gets screwed there.... you get in by how relative your 'screwing' was compared to others.... and at least I'm sure I can answer one question....'What's the meaning of your name'. Thinking of doing a ' I don't know' for all questions related to Biotech, Economics, Why-MBA types..!!! I know... there's no hope for me!!

There's no hope for me any which ways. I just realised that no guy wants to make me his girlfriend.... and no guy wants me to tie him a rakhi as well!!! So...no boyfriend and no brother...!So,basically no one to keep a hand on my head and convincingly say 'It's gonna be okay. I'm there' !! What a life! Everything I'm doing these days is turning out to be wrong...especially things done on conferences... I've begun to hate them! Was on a IM conference with a guy friend and a female friend.... the female friend was trying to set me up with the guy friend (she's just taking my "I'm so exasperated with studies and exams that I'm getting married in May, provided I get a dulha" statement rather seriously!) and that guy thinks that I was setting him up with my friend...!! I'm getting married only in 2050 if things like these continue!!

I don't really agree with people when they say that a girl and a guy can never be JUST friends... they can be. But this statement comes with a conditions apply asterisk!! One that states.... a girl and a guy can be JUST friends.... provided they are in love with other people!!! Maybe I can make a movie on this and sell it to K-Jo and probably become a millionaire before I turn 21... and then maybe I can bring in my 21st birthday in Las Vegas... and shove my age proof up their asses!! Yay!! Wishful thinking.... my favourite hobby!!

Err... I just happened to catch a glimpse of the clock ticking away as if she's gotta meet her boyfriend in some time... that's why she's ticking away like there's no tomorrow... (consciously made the my clock a girl.... for obvious reasons...didn't get it..?? Arey baba... guys are never anxiously waiting for girls na!)... so, like always, I killed the essence of the joke by explaining it... my point was that it's too late ....I gotta go and start with Paper I Unit II... or Paper III Unit IV... or well... 4 papers....4 units each... so 4p4 ways of selecting what to study... wow! Fine... I'm going to study and I'll stop irritating you further... so... see you sometime in May... don't really think I'll come before that... maybe I'll just drop in once to say how disastrous my GD was and how well I got screwed in my PI...! Till then... bye... adios... tata...alvida...Astala Vista... Sayonara...tchao.. ok... there are 6912 languages in the world... and I can't say BYE in all of them... so get back to your work...and wish me luck!!

P.S: This season... try not falling in love!! (F**k, I can foresee Hallmark and Hershey's people vandalising my house for this...V-Day coming up... no! I've got CET the next day... but doesn't matter... no date!!!)

P.S2: Listen to "Yeh Zindagi Bhi" from Luck By Chance....trust me this song gives you the chills!! Listen to it after your dreams are broken... for added pain if you're one of the self-sadist people!

Pichle 180 Dino Mein.....

Joe ne glass toda, Debbie ne kaan maroda.... hum sab hase, mushkil main tum phase.... kyunki Joe ne band choda...!! No, I haven't gone mad, not yet! It's just the Rock On!! hang over.I'll be fine in a day or two, so don't worry! I looveee Farhan Akhtar! Pooja, I really don't care of you are contemplating murder at this announcement of mine. Sorry Darling, love knows no tera-mera!!

There were two announcements in class today one: Exams from 14 Oct. In short, my birthday is ruined and I'm not even talking about CAT, because it has no chance of any resurrection and I couldn't care less about my college exams. And two: College is getting over from 26 Sept. I mean COLLEGE IS GETTING OVER!!!!!! My college days, carefree, fully paid, no tension about life, responsiblity free days ARE OVER?!? I mean SHIT!!! Someone please hit the panic button for me please!

Breathe in. Breathe out. Repeat. Ok, I'm a bit better now! The panic attack has alleviated. In the past 6 months, life has been awesome. Seen some wonderful times with friends. Fought the ugliest fights with them. Made the impossible-est of confessions (I'm still shocked how I did it!), enjoyed pracs, planned parties and surprises... all in this span of 180 days. It's this 180 days that's giving me the lump in my throat whenever I think about the college getting over.

180 days back
Get up. Go to station, wait like an ass for minutes for Manshi to come, take a rick (on days when we HAD money) or a bus (when we were broke, which was almost everyday) to Aanchal's place. Go there. Study for 1/10 of the time. Eat for 7/10. Talk for the other 2/10 of the time. It was bliss! Classes, Aanchal's Punjabi food, Hetvi's stories about her life, Aanchal and me exchanging the when-are-we-gonna-have-some-kinda-adventure-in-life look, teasing Aanchal, TIME, being a heroine in VA lectures and jhadoing all the vocab we knew, maintaining statistics of the number of times Aanchal "turned back",hoping everyday "HE" came to class, imaginary cheerharan during a boring quant class....... everything... I mean everything spelt BLISS!

90 days back.
Rains. College. Class Tests. Perfect reasons for one to pull up the blanket and continue dozing. I would have been too much of an optimist had I done that and thought that I'd get way with it. 100pc attendance is what my HOD wants! Wishful thinking, I know! The past 3 years at Mithibai... the first year with Aanchal and Hetvi and our "coffee book" which had all the bitching about the class, SY with the gang, planning Biotechnova, fighting, solving fights and making up summed up SY. TY with the same gang, eating like gluttons, not performing pracs and being a pain for the teachers, doing nonsense during lectures was TY.

But in the past three months, we've enjoyed college like no man's business. Bunking college tests and running away to Bandra. Finding new excuses every Saturday to go to Bandra. Going to Bandra from Infiniti Mall only to have icecream at Carter Road wala Amore, when there was one right there at Infiniti! Ankita's car and five other girls in one car, amazing weather and Bandra Bandstand, Bandra Reclamation, Bandra Fort, Carters.... BANDRA...wow!! Going for pracs to college and somehow landing up for lunch at Renaissance.... we are broke yet we lunch at Renaissance! Unpredictable College Life, I say! Missing turns while going to Bandra and somehow reaching Danapani, going all the way to Malad from Powai when we wanted to come back to Parla, only because Aarey colony road is awesome. Life was so much fun. Missed you , Aanchal in each and every trip. Sacchi.

Today when I think that in another fortnight or so when college is going to get over.... I get jittery. It's a shock! It actually is. Never thought college getting over would be so shocking! Ankita already expressed her shock! Lucky is still in shock. Blogger had Blogged it! OMG! Just give us a month more. With no studies .... please... there's so much more to do..... Lonavla is still left man! Now that the Bandra trips are over, I feel how much I'm gonna miss it. Bandra will always tantamount to these 5 people and me in Ankita's Corolla. Now, it's already begun. Whenver I see, an off-white Corolla, all I think about is the six of us and Bandra!! It brings a wonderful smile to my face! Thank You everybody. Aanch, you know, in every trip I used to wish that you'd come, I really missed you. I just wanted you to have the same memories we were taking back.

Life, in the past quarter of the year has changed in more ways than these. I'm in a way a different person and a much stronger person today. I know, Radhika is fuming at the thought that I've changed once again!! Realising and finally letting go of things is something that I always said I wanted to do, and I've finally done it now. It's a simple principle in life which I never believed earlier, but now I do. You don't need someone for your happiness.... you don't need someone to make you happy and your happiness should not depend on someone else. It's my elixir from now. Just yesterday, one friend of mine gave my example to another friend who was going through the same thing I had gone through and was asking her to look at me and see that life is good even without the people you wanted to be a part of your life. I was happy not because someone was asked to look at me and learn, because of the pride in my friend's voice when she narrated this to me, the sense of accomplishment she felt when I finally came out of my own illusions and delusions. It just feels nice to have made someone proud!! Take a bow Radhika, Rao, Aanchal and Hetvi for all the effort you guys put in!

It was in this past 180 days that I began blogging, thanks to AJ. It was for the first time that someone, who until then was a stranger, put in confidence in me and pushed me to write further, made me believe that I had a writer in me. I wrote for Camous Junkie and am gonna be paid for it, finally something to go down in my blank resume. Manalee, I owe you one, babes! 1500 page hits already on my blog... I'm loving it!

I'm never gonna forget 2008.... it was a wonderful year spent with wonderful people.

People who've heard me sing, please close your ears if you're planning to start imagine me singing and for people who've not heard me, imagine Lata Mangeshkar-esque voice coming in your brain as I sing : Pichle 180 dino main, maine yeh sab hain paaya. Kabhi khud pe hasi main, kabhi khud pe royi!!!!

P.s: Hey, everyone named in the blog please take a minute out and write a comment!! please!!

Rock On

I finally saw Rock On!! and it's a fantastic movie...!! I won't write a review on it because, by now, everybody's seen the movie. A Tuesday, and we tried going for the week's most popular movie...! We got tickets on the first row!! FIRST ROW! It was the first time I was watching a movie from the first row. We could have come on another day, but we were too impatient to wait any further. But, there were two positives out of this move... first being that we got to see a rock show from the front row and Hetvi could droooool over Arjun Rampal from close quarters and second being that I got to see Kidnap promo that is Imran Khan from the front row!! I guess it was 100 bucks well spent!

Farhan Akhtar's acting and voice are gonna keep me in love with him for atleast a week! Tum Ho Toh is a gem! Farhan's home in the movie is a ruby if Tum Ho Toh is a diamond... er... sorry for the poor comparison... but in short, his home was AWESOME. The day when I've earnt enough, I'll have a place like that. IF...!!! If not, I'll simply marry an investment banker. If he can play the guitar, all the better.... my song list will finally be sung to me!!! yipee!! But there was this one line which touched me the most. It was when KD says: Jab log 20-22 ke hote hain, unko lagta hain duniya unke ishaaro pe nachegi, par....!!!

I don't think the movie was even a bit like Dil Chahta Hain... it definitely was about friendship... it was about living your dream and that it's never too late to pursue your dream and if you get a chance, grab it, there might not be a tomorrow. And today, I feel so happy that atleast after 20 years I've found something that I love doing and feel like pursuing it. Writing. Thanks to AJ, whose blog inspired me to start blogging and Manalee, who pushed me further, I wouldn't have found my true calling. Thank You.

True to myself, I started thinking about the movie and it's parallels in my life. Why does it have to happen that once best friends have problems between them which lead to a point where it becomes difficult to even hug each other after years? Why is that chasm? Why does it become easier to write about it on a blog than talk it out to the person concerned? That's life I presume! Phew! Life and it's games!!

All in all, Rock On was a wonderful experience.... something I can watch over and over again. Go watch it if you still haven't.
